John completed his training in clinical psychology at the Australian National University (ANU) as part of a PhD (Clinical Psychology) degree. This training focused on developing proficiency in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) used in the treatment of depression, anxiety and eating disorders, as well as Motivational Interviewing used for helping people to overcome addiction, impulse control and non-compliance problems. John also has an interest in drug-free treatment of sleeping problems. As part of his ongoing efforts to expand his knowledge and clinical skills, John has recently undertaken training in Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), which has been shown to be an effective treatment for depression related to interpersonal problems.
